I'm copying in a conversation that is happening on the CLUE list. It looks like there are a few people interested. Please scroll down and read up.

And now, I'll tell you what I'm thinking...

Something I've wanted to do it for years is take a bunch of Free software geeks "away from it all" and get soaked in knowledge and sunlight for a weekend.

Obviously, sunlight and Free software training would have to take turns soaking the geek, because of screen glare. And, there'd have to be some funding, to buy food, or food-making things, for the geeks and rent them places to sleep...

So, it might look like this:

We all put in for Friday off from whatever and hire baby-sitters as needed.
We meet at someplace lovely, like Winter Park or Granby or Frisco or Sloan's lake or something, around dinner time on Thursday.
We eat together, hang out a bit, maybe go for a hike or play a board game, and then learn stuph from 8-11.
Then at 7'ish Friday, we get up and eat and enjoy the outdoors again, and start learning around 9. We do learning in about 4 hour runs, then eat and play together again, and so on, logging 12+ hours of learning on Friday
... then 10+ on Saturday.
... and 10- on Sunday.
Sunday evening, we say good-bye and drive home smarter and happier.

Does that sound like a fun way to spend a weekend? Would you want to help create the class, or take the class, or both?

This is a good time for a r3VOLution.
