All,
Just a quick note on this 'Free' edX class. You can Audit this course for free. That means you get full access to all of the materials and lectures but do not get any acknowledgement for the completing the course. You also have the ability to work towards a Certificate of Completion for a 'donation' of $250. This means full access to the materials and lectures but you will be required to follow the class schedule. If you feel there is any chance you won't complete, go for the Audit option over the Cert option.
Thanks,

If you have yet to get your Linux hat fully on, maybe this will help.

Alex sent a notice for this online course to the Denver-Boulder Linux Meetup and it seemed like it might be interesting to some here, too.
