Featured Small is Beautiful (SiB) Sessions

Warner Losh @bsdimp - Where Unix Began — Early Unix in a PDP-11 Simulator

Explore where Unix began! Recent discoveries in a storeroom at the University
of Utah have given us a glimpse at the earliest version of Unix written in C.
Warner Losh will give an abbreviated version of his history-of-Unix talk and
put this discovery into context.

After a quick demo, he’ll show you how to run any of the early editions of Unix
we have images for — 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th editions — in a container running a
PDP-11 simulator. You’ll see how many familiar concepts were there at the
start, discover how they grew, and learn how to run all of these from the
convenience of a container.

Will Dickinson @axcien Xonotic — Fast, Free, Fun FPS

Xonotic is a fast-paced, free-libre arena shooter born when the Nexuiz
community forked the GPL codebase. Will will demo the game live, then throw
open the arena: brave, adventurous souls can jump in for a few frags. Pure fun,
100% free software.

David L. Willson @DLWillson OpenCode — An Agentic CLI Coding Partner You
Actually Own

OpenCode is libre, modal, and connects to OpenRouter like butter. Willson works
in OpenCode with and on his trusty AI assistant “Chip”. Let him show you modes,
sessions, models, and how to connect to OpenRouter. He’ll even give you an API
key with a few bucks on it, so you can play with a big, beefy LLM.
